چکیده

In this work, we have studied the catalytic activity of different silicates (MFI, MCM-41, and Beta) containing Lewis acid sites (including Sn, Ti, Zr, Hf) for tandem N-alkylation reaction aniline with benzyl alcohol. The Hf- Zr-Beta were most active catalysts transformation, showing in both cases selectivities toward corresponding N-benzylaniline higher than 97%. FTIR DFT analyses confirm that Hf-Beta catalyst process are open where one four Hf–O bonds is hydrolyzed. Moreover, amount these species could be notoriously increased previous thermal treatment zeolite Isotopically labeled experiments theoretical mechanistic studies reveal occurs through a hydrogen borrowing pathway, which situ Hf-hydride generated. Finally, was reused several times without any appreciable deactivation detected. This system expanded to variety amines, including aliphatic biomass-derived amines.

Palladium catalyzed N-alkylation of amines with alcohols

An iron oxide immobilized palladium catalyst was prepared for the N-alkylation of amines with alcohols under base and organic ligand free conditions. Applying the optimized reaction conditions, the coupling reactions of amines and alcohols with various structures could be realized with up to 99% isolated yields. The catalysts were studied by XRD, BET, and XPS and the mechanism was studied by DF...

Cesium effect: high chemoselectivity in direct N-alkylation of amines.

A novel method for the mono-N-alkylation of primary amines, diamines, and polyamines was developed using cesium bases in order to prepare secondary amines efficiently. A cesium base not only promoted alkylation of primary amines but also suppressed overalkylations of the produced secondary amines. Various amines, alkyl bromides, and alkyl sulfonates were examined, and the results demonstrated t...

Boron-Catalyzed N-Alkylation of Amines using Carboxylic Acids.

A boron-based catalyst was found to catalyze the straightforward alkylation of amines with readily available carboxylic acids in the presence of silane as the reducing agent. Various types of primary and secondary amines can be smoothly alkylated with good selectivity and good functional-group compatibility. This metal-free amine alkylation was successfully applied to the synthesis of three com...
